The City of Oakland's flagship golf venue has recently been restored to its original glory and re-opened for play in early April 2007. Tremendous views of the San Francisco Bay and significant elevation changes make this one of Northern California's most unique golf facilities. In addition to a regulation 18 hole golf course, Lake Chabot offers a par 3 course that is fun for all ages and abilities.
Mare Island Golf Club was established in 1892, making it the oldest course west of the Mississippi. Recently expanded back to a full 18-hole facility by renowned Pacific Tim architect Robin Nelson, the new course is designed to challenge golfers of all abilities. Half of the holes wind through tree-lined fairways, while the other half offers a more links-style journey. The majority of holes offer a magnificent view on San Pablo Bay, the Napa River, Mt.
